How we control the Pique fabric Shrinkage

Details instructions for controlling the shrinkage of Pique Lacost Fabric.

If you follow the below instructions, then the fabric shrinkage will be within 5%.

For 100% cotton comb, 210 -215 GSM, Pique Lacost fabric, please maintain  the below point

Yarn count should be - 26/s

Stitch line should be - 2.55

Machine dia should - 34" (tube)

Finished dia - 48" (tube)

If you follow the above then your fabric shrinkage will be remain within 5%.

Select the correct Yarn count for Pique fabric:

In my this post I will introduce you with some equations, with which we can select the actual yarn count for knit the fabric. These are vary for fabric types.

Pique 

Say, the require GSM is 180

Yarn count  = (-0.146) X (GSM) + 57.16

                   = (-0.146) X (180) + 57.16

                   = -26.28 + 57.16

                   = 30.88

So, to knit 180 gsm Pique fabric we need yarn count 30.88/s
